Collating the masterpieces of ceramicist Joia Ellery into one online home
Joia’s work speaks for itself, she has an incredible eye for detail, both in the way she shapes her pieces and the way she photographs them. Her hand-built vessels celebrate natural form and texture, and already had such a strong visual presence.
My job was simply to bring it all together, to choose design elements that would support the work, not compete with it. The colour palette and typography were selected to sit gently alongside Joia’s textural ceramics, echoing their rounded forms and subtle elegance, and to bring an intentional tactile quality to the digital space.
The brand was already there — the pieces just needed to be brought together.
This project was about building a simple, thoughtful space where Joia’s work could live, grow, and be found. A place where people could learn about her practice, browse her collections, and purchase pieces at their own pace.
Built on Shopify and designed to feel spacious and slow, the website brings together her monthly drops, core collection, and story — all in one place.
